
Men’s Tennis Concludes Play at ITA Regionals on Day Three

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Brown men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the ITA New England Regionals on Saturday.
The Bears saw three singles performers reach the Round of 32 and four doubles pairings reach the Round of 16.
In singles action, Robert Yang fell to Harvard's Rohan Murali (3-6, 3-6), while Lukas Phimvongsa battled closely with Yale's Jason Shuler before dropping a tight straight-set decision (6-7 [4-7], 4-6). James Lian also put together a strong effort but was edged by Harvard's Peter Benjamin Privara (2-6, 3-6).
In doubles play, four of Brown's pairings competed in the Round of 16. Zander Bravo and Elliot Wasserman fell 4-8 to Yale's Edward Liao and Vignesh Gogineni, and Theo Murphy and Lian dropped their match 5-8 to Boston College's Liam O'Leary and Matvey Greschner. Cole Oberg and Alex Koong just missed advancing after a tight tiebreak finish (8-9 [8-10]) against BC's Mai Gao and Lukas Rais, while Noah Hernandez and Phimvongsa were topped 5-8 by Buffalo's Michael Malkin and Minjae Kim.
Brown will continue its fall schedule at the Ivy League Singles & Doubles event (Oct. 24-27) at Penn.
