Men’s Tennis Concludes Day One at Ivy League ITA Qualifiers

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Brown men's tennis team concluded day one at the Ivy League ITA Qualifiers at Penn on Friday.
In singles action, James Lian battled Princeton's Evan Wen in a three-set match, falling 7-6 (7-1), 0-6, 0-6. Elliot Wasserman also competed in a tight contest against Yale's Edward Liao, dropping two close sets (4-6, 4-6). Noah Hernandez went the distance in his match against Harvard's Masato Perera, ultimately coming up short 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 2-6. Lukas Phimvongsa faced Dartmouth's Kornel Halmos, taking the first set before falling 1-6, 6-4, 2-6.
In doubles play, the pairings of Elliot Wasserman and James Lian and of Lukas Phimvongsa and Noah Hernandez each competed in close matches, but both duos came up just short with identical 5-8 results against Columbia and Dartmouth.
Brown's four singles performers will compete in the consolation round on Saturday, Oct. 25.
