PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey's Rory Edwards has been named ECAC MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week after her performances against No. 13 Princeton and No. 10 Quinnipiac, the league announced on Tuesday.
Edwards finished the two games with 80 saves and allowed just two goals. The sophomore began the weekend with 35 saves, allowing two goals in a 2-2 tie against Princeton, making a diving save near the end of overtime to keep the game tied at two.
Against Quinnipiac, Edwards picked up her second-career shutout and collected a career-high 45 saves against the Bobcats as Brown picked up 1.5 points against both top-15 teams on the weekend.
Edwards is now 3-0-2 in her last five outings with the last four games, all against ranked opponents on the road, going to overtime.
Edwards and the rest of the Bears will be at home for the next two weekends, beginning with a home weekend against Union and Renssalear on Friday and Saturday.
