Max Scott Named ECAC Forward of the Week
1/20/2025 9:55:00 AM | Men's Ice Hockey
DANBURY, Conn. – Captain Max Scott picked up ECAC Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels, following his four-goal weekend at Meehan Auditorium.
In Friday's 3-2 win over St. Lawrence, Scott drew a penalty shot and tallied Brown's first goal of the night late in the first period.
It was the first penalty shot in nearly five years for the Bears with the last taken by Joachim Weberg on February 15, 2020 at Harvard. Weberg's penalty shot goal was the lone goal of the night in a 1-1 tie against the Crimson.
Scott recorded a hat trick, including the third period winner, in Brown's 4-2 win over #20 Clarkson on Saturday. The captain scored on the power play in the second period before breaking a 2-2 deadlock with 1:35 remaining in the third period.
He capped off the hat trick with an empty netter with 27 seconds remaining.
Scott leads the Bears with 10 goals and ranks second on the team with 13 points through 17 games. His 10 goals are tied for fifth-most in the ECAC and his 0.59 goals per game are tied for the most in the league and 12th in the NCAA alongside Clarkson's Ayrton Martino.
The Bears return to action tomorrow night with a trip to North Andover, Massachusetts to take on the Merrimack Warriors (9-12-1, 5-7-1 HEA). Tuesday night's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.
