1/18/2025 11:03:00 AM | Wrestling
DAVIDSON, NC - The Brown wrestling team finished competition at the Davidson Duals yesterday evening. The Bears went 1-2 on the day, with losses to #18 ranked Little Rock (28-13) and Lock Haven (26-10), while defeating the host school Davidson by a whopping final score of 41-3.
Jacob Joyce (133) and Andrew Reall (184) both had strong showings at the tournament, each picking up two wins on the day. Joyce defeated Hunter Gould (Lock Haven) and Enis Ljikovic (Davidson). Reall picked up victories over #10 ranked Brock DelSignore (Little Rock) and Josh Lange (Davidson). By defeating #10 ranked DelSignore, Reall picks up one of the biggest wins of the season for Brown wrestling.
Blake Saito (157) also went 2-1 in North Carolina with wins against Nicholas Stampoulos (Lock Haven) and Logan Sichelstiel (Davidson).
"It was good to have everyone back under one roof and get the dual meet portion of our season started. Wrestling is an individual sport so you are always fighting for yourself, but there can be an added energy when you are fighting for your teammates as well. We saw some big time performances, but we still have a lot of room to improve and will benefit from continuing to come together more as a team," said Head Coach Jordan Leen.
