
Men’s Basketball Hosts Harvard on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's basketball team (8-6, 0-1) will host Harvard (5-9, 0-1) for its Ivy League home opener on Saturday, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Scott Cordischi, Russ Tyler '71, and Nick Coit will bring you the action live on ESPN+ and Jake Levin and Kevin McNamara will bring you the action on the Brown Varsity Network via the Brown Bears app, Varsity Network app, or BrownBears.com.
Saturday afternoon will also be Brown's Youth Day and Pediatric Cancer Awareness Game. Prior to the game, Brown men's basketball will host a Youth Clinic from 10:30-11:30 a.m. all clinic attendees will receive a free ticket to the game.
History Made, The Chase Continues
Kino Lilly Jr. is now the all-time leader in program history with 293 three-pointers made. The senior also ranks second all-time with 1,671 points and is 371 points away from being the all-time program scoring leader. Lilly Jr. ranks third in Ivy League history in three-pointers made and is seven three-pointers away from being the third player in Ivy League history with 300 career three-pointers made.
Ivy Iverson
Kino Lilly Jr. is averaging 18.9 points per game on 42.3 shooting from the field and 41.4 shooting from three-point range this season.
The senior is averaging 3.79 three-pointers per game and is on pace to hit 102 triples, which would break Brown's single season record set by Sean McGonagill during the 2013-14 season.
His pace would put him third in Ivy League history for most three-pointers made in a single season. Lilly Jr.'s 3.79 three-pointers per game ranks third in the nation and his 53 total triples sits 20th in the nation.
Cooley Continues To Impress
Aaron Cooley is averaging 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, the senior has double-figure scoring efforts in nine out of 14 games and has three double-doubles.
Cooley scored a career-high 19 points in Brown's 84-80 double overtime victory over Rhode Island (Dec. 10), he also had a career-high four blocks against the Rams. Cooley also grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds at Siena (Nov. 4), his 15 rebounds was the second-most by an Ivy League player this season, he's recorded double-digit rebounds in four games this season.
Cooley is shooting 45.7 percent from the floor this season and is third in the Ivy League with 5.07 defensive rebounds per contest.
Lewis' Leap
In the absence of Nana Owusu-Anane, Landon Lewis has scored in double figures in 12 out of 13 games played. Lewis netted a career-high 21 points in Brown's win over Bryant (Dec. 6) on 9-12 shooting from the floor.
Lewis recorded his first-career double-double in Brown's win over Sacred Heart (Nov. 17) with 14 points and 11 rebounds; he backed up that effort with 17 points in Brown's win at Canisius (Nov. 23).
Lewis' 3.0 offensive rebounds per game ranks first in the Ivy League, his 7.0 rebounds per game is third in the Ivy League. His 60.6 field goal percentage sits 22nd in the nation and he is averaging 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
On the defensive end, Lewis has recorded four or more blocks on three separate occasions and his 1.62 blocks per game ranks third in the Ivy League.
Home Sweet Home
Brown has earned four consecutive victories at the Pizzitola Sports Center, the last time Brown won four consecutive games at home was during the 2022-23 season.
Offensively, Brown is averaging 79.4 points per game at home to go along with 18.7 assists. The Bears are shooting 47.7 percent from the floor at the Pizzitola Sports Center this season. Brown has a +13.4 scoring margin and is averaging 8.0 steals per game at home this season.
Del's Big Day
In Brown's Ivy League opener at Yale, Lyndel Erold recorded a team-high 15 points on 5-9 shooting from the floor. Erold opened the game a perfect 3-3 shooting from the floor and finished with three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Scouting Harvard (5-9, 0-1)
Harvard suffered a 68-64 loss to Princeton in its Ivy League opener, Robert Hinton has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week four times this season.
Hinton paces the Crimson with 13.9 points per game this season and is averaging 1.1 steals per contest. Chandler Piggé sits second on the Crimson with 12.9 points per game, he also leads the Ivy League with 7.6 rebounds per game.
