Women's Swim & Dive Beats Columbia, Wins 12 Events

NEW YORK – Brown women's swimming and diving returned to the pool with a 194-106 win over Columbia on Tuesday night (Jan. 14). The Bears finished with 12 wins on the night and Jenna Reznicek set a Percy Uris Natatorium in the 200 backstroke.
Brown picked up its third Ivy win of the season and began the night with a win in the 200 medley relay by the team of Jenna Reznicek , Ellie Brault, Zehra Bilgin and Audrey Chung with a time of 1:41.69.
Crystal Yuen earned a win in the 1000 freestyle, clocking a time of 9:55.01. Yuen's second win of the night came in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:50.50. Yuen was also second in the 50 free with a time of 23.27.
The Bears took the top three spots in the 200 freestyle with Kelly Dolce earning the win in 1:49.13. Anna Podurgiel was second (1:50.38) and Livia Venditti finished third (1:51.14).
It was another sweep in the 100 backstroke with Reznicek taking the top spot (54.06), followed by Nadia Thomas (55.62) and Lily Welsh (55.77).
Brown also swept the 200 backstroke as Reznicek earned her second individual win of the night in a pool record time of 1:57.83. Venditti placed second (1:58.57) followed by Thomas (1:59.56).
Amie Barrow earned the win in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.85 and Kaitlyn Holmes was second in the event, touching the wall in 2:18.72. Barrow was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.39) with Catherine Yu taking third (1:03.42).
Bilgin picked up the win in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:59.27.
Dolce was second in the 100 free (50.05) followed by Lily Klinginsmith (50.86).
Klinginsmith won the 100 fly with a time of 54.19 and was followed by Bilgin, who had a time of 54.55.
Podurgiel earned the win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.53.
On the boards, Bowie Krawczyk earned a win in the 1-meter with a score of 283.73.
The Bears closed out the night with a win in the 400 freestyle relay by the team of Yuen, Dolce, Klinginsmith and Bilgin with a time of 3:22.68.

Brown will have one more dual meet on its schedule this season as the Bears will host Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 25.
