Women's Swimming & Diving Cruises Past Cornell on Senior Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's swimming and diving closed out its dual meet season with a win over Cornell on Saturday. The Bears won all but one event, and set two program records, on the day in a 236-64 rout of the Big Red.
Jenna Reznicek broke the school record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.27 and Isabella George broke the school record in the 1-meter springboard with 300.45 points.
The Bears started the day taking the top two spots in the 200 medley relay. Jenna Reznicek, Ellie Brault, Zehra Bilgin and Audrey Chung won the event with a time of 1:40.74. Lily Welsh, Kaitlyn Holmes, Lily Klinginsmith and Emilia Barck took second (1:42.29).
Crystal Yuen won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.17. Yuen also won the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:51.00 and Dana Li was second in the event (4:56.69).
The Bears swept the 100 backstroke as Reznicek won the event in 53.11, followed by Welsh (54.93) and Nadia Thomas (55.13). Reznicek also won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.27 and Livia Venditti took second (1:56.30).
Brown also swept the 100 breaststroke with Amie Barrow winning the event with a time of 1:02.57. Holmes was second (1:03.06), followed by Brault (1:03.41). The same trio also swept the 200 breaststroke with Barrow on top (2:15.49), followed by Holmes (2:16.02) and Brault (2:17.99).
Bilgin earned the win in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.83. Lizzy Washburn was second (2:00.96) and Sumner Chmielewski placed third (2:03.38). Bilgin also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.73 with Reznicek finishing second (54.15) and Washburn taking third (54.56).
Chung was the top finisher in the 50 freestyle (23.17) with Kelly Dolce finishing second (23.36).
The Bears owned the podium in the 100 freestyle with Klinginsmith winning the event (49.78), Dolce taking second (50.14) and Chung finishing third (50.80).
In the 200 IM, Anna Podurgiel won the event in a time of 2:02.03. Klinginsmith placed second (2:03.42) and Barck was third (2:03.76).
Isabella George won both the 3-meter (296.78) and 1-meter (300.45) events and a Elena Yeh finished second in the 1-meter (286.95). Bowie Krawczyk was third in both events.
Sara Barrett took second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:06.25.
The Bears closed out the night with a first-place finish by the team of Yuen, Dolce, Chung and Bilgin in the 200 free relay (1:31.92).

Brown will have athletes take part in the Boston Winter Open before the Bears will compete in the Ivy League Championships in Princeton on Feb. 19-22.
