Rowland Lawver Sets Program Record in 1-Meter at Columbia

NEW YORK – Brown men's swimming and diving dropped its dual meet against Columbia 165.5-134.5 on Saturday at Percy Uris Natatorium. Rowland Lawver set a program record in the 1-meter in the meet.
Lawver's 375.50 points in the 1-meter was enough to break his own record by more than four points. Lawver also won the 1-meter event by more than 60 points. It was a clean sweep for Lawver on the day as the junior also won the 3-meter by more than 60 points, scoring 381.00 points.
In the pool, Brown's first win came from Jack Kelly, who won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.10. Kelly also won the 200 breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:59.59.
Marcus Lee won the men's 100 freestyle with a time of 45.38 and Jonathan Gim was second (45.81).
In the 200 backstroke, Marton Nagy (1:48.54) took home first place, followed by Jerry O'Mara (1:50.22).
Nagy picked up his second win of the day with a time of 1:49.31 in the 200 IM.

Brown will be back in action with a home meet against Harvard on Jan. 17 at 12 p.m.
