
Sailing Finishes Top Five in All Weekend Events

The coed team finished a close second place at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown, the premiere event of the weekend in college sailing. It came down to the last race with Roger Williams University for the overall win. Brown Bears 1 finished 2nd in each division and 2nd overall in the 18 team event. They finished 40 points ahead of 3rd place Dartmouth.
Another coed team was at the Hood Trophy at Tufts University, finishing 5th overall out of 20 teams. The Bears finished 5th in A-division and 3rd in B-division. There was a coed team at Eagle Invite at Boston College, finishing 3rd overall out of 6 teams. Charlie Gish and Phoebe Hackett led the Bears, finishing 5th overall in the 18 boat fleet.
We had two women's teams at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth, finishing 5th and 7th overall in the 17 team event. The B-division team of Laura Hamilton and Katherine Majette finished a strong 2nd place in B-division, only 5 points out of first.
