
Volleyball Travels to Chicago for DePaul/UIC Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball heads to Chicago for the second weekend of the season. The Bears will take on Bowling Green, DePaul and UIC on the trip.
Brown begins the weekend with a match against Bowling Green at DePaul at 1 p.m. ET. The Bears will then take on host DePaul at 8 p.m. ET. The trip finishes up at UIC on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Bears' match against DePaul will be streamed on FloSports.

SCOUTING THE BEARS (2-1)
- Brown is 2-1 on the season after its opening weekend at the Ocean State Cup. The Bears defeated Bryant and UIC after a season-opening defeat to Providence.
- This will be the first time Brown has played any of the three teams they will meet up with and is the first trip to Illinois for the Bears since 2005.
- Mariia Sidorova and Ella Park were both named to the Ocean State Cup All-Tournament Team after their efforts over the weekend.
- Sidorova finished the weekend second on the team with 3.67 kills per set, finished with 13, 13 and 18 kills, respectively. Sidorova hit .260 on the weekend, hitting .393 against Bryant and .483 against Rhode Island.
- Park quarterbacked Brown's offense with 8.75 assists per set. The junior had 44 assists and 17 digs in the season opener and filled the stat sheet against Bryant with 26 assists, eight digs, five kills and five blocks in a three-set win against Bryant.
- Ally Panzloff got off to a blazing start to the season, leading Brown's offense with 3.75 kills per set and 45 kills. After not appearing in a match as a freshman, Panzloff began her sophomore year with 16 kills against Providence, 17 against Bryant and 12 against Rhode Island. Panzloff's 17 kills in the three-set win over Bryant was the second-most by a Bear in a three-set match since 2008, when the NCAA switch to 25-point rally scoring.
- Bowling Green comes into the weekend having won its last match and winning two-of-three matches last weekend.
- The Falcons are led by Lauryn Hovey with 3.26 kills per set and Mia Tyler is second on the team with 2.68.
- Amanda Otten (6.29 assists/set) and Anna Sitek (5.64 assists/set) have split time guiding the offense.
- Defensively, Alexis Mettille (1.21) leads a team that is averaging 2.24 blocks per set.
- DePaul will play Colorado State on Thursday before taking on Brown to start the weekend.
- The Blue Demons' offense runs through Jill Pressly and Audrey Klemp. Pressley leads DePaul with 4.42 kills per set and Klemp is averaging 3.13 per set.
- Rachel Krasowski is seventh in the NCAA with 5.33 digs per set and as a team, DePaul is 12th in the NCAA with 17.83 digs per set.
- UIC won its first four games of the season before falling to South Dakota State. The Flames responded with a win over Western Illinois in their last match.
- Zahria Woodard leads the offense with 3.08 kills per set and is third in the NCAA, hitting .524.
- As a team, the Flames are hitting .269 on the year, while holding opponents to just .188 hitting.
- Woodard also leads the defense with 1.08 blocks per set.
