
First-Time Olympian Henry Hollingsworth ‘22 Takes Home Bronze in Men’s Eight

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Former Brown student-athlete, and first-time Olympian Henry Hollingsworth '22 earned a bronze medal in the Men's Eight at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
On Monday, Team USA competed against Germany, the Netherlands, and Romania in Heat 1. The US finished in first place with a time of 5:29.94, earning them qualification for Final A. The three remaining teams qualified for Repechage. In Heat 2 Great Britain took first place, allowing them to move on to Final A. Australia and Italy followed close behind qualifying for Repechage.
The United States earned bronze with a finish time of 5:25.28 in the finals on Saturday. The Netherlands and Great Britain preceded the US earning silver and gold respectively.
During his time at Brown, Hollingsworth became a decorated rower. He earned bronze at the Eastern Sprints twice, bronze at the 119th IRA Championship, Second Team IRCA All-America honors, Second Team All-Ivy, and All-Ivy honors. He now adds a bronze Olympic medal to his accolades.
