8/1/2024 12:50:00 PM | Wrestling
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown wrestling team is set to depart on a foreign trip to Paris. The excursion will run from Monday, Aug. 5 through Monday, Aug. 12.
The Bears will spend their time sightseeing and exploring the many different aspects of Paris. They will also have the opportunity to attend the Olympic wrestling competitions.
"We are all excited to head to Paris. To my knowledge the trip will mark the first time an entire college wrestling team has been fortunate enough to attend the Olympic Games together. This type of opportunity builds pride in the support we have here at Brown and celebrates the trajectory of our program. It will be an experience that we will all cherish for the rest of our lives," said Head Coach Jordan Leen.
The wrestling team will visit the iconic Champ-de-Mars Arena where the Olympic wrestling competitions will take place. The Champ-de-Mars Arena is a temporary setup located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower that can hold over 8,000 spectators.
Aside from attending the Olympics, the Bears are set to visit the historical city of Versailles. There, they will be able to fully immerse themselves in the culture and history of France. They will also have the opportunity to explore the city of Paris on their own.
A recap including photos and videos from the trip will be posted to BrownBears.com. Follow the Bears on Instagram to see the latest updates from France!
