Softball Coach Kate Wheeler Steps Down

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University Chancellor Samuel M. Mencoff '78 Vice President for Athletics and Recreation M. Grace Calhoun '92, Ph.D. announced today that Kate (Refsnyder) Wheeler would step down as the Softball Head Coach.
Named head coach before the 2019 season, Wheeler led the Bears for six seasons, going 61-112 overall and 31-53 in Ivy League play. She coached two First Team All-Ivy and eight Second Team All-Ivy selections.
"I want to thank Kate for all that she has done for the softball program at Brown," Calhoun said. "We wish her the very best going forward."
A national search for the softball head coach position will begin immediately.
