Young and Mokonchu Earn All-New England Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – A pair of Brown track and field athletes earned All-New England honors while competing at the NEICAAA Championships over the weekend on the campus of Holy Cross.
Sophomore Nene Mokonchu and senior Geordie Young were the Bears' two representatives at the meet and each earned All-New England honors by placing in the top eight of their respective events.
Mokonchu cleared 1.72 meters in the high jump to take third place overall, earning a bronze medal in the event that had 16 competitors. Young competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and finished fifth overall out of 23 in 9:20.10.
Next up for Brown will be the NCAA East Regional from May 22-25 in Lexington, Ky.
