PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown University's Mia Mascone was named the Ivy League Attacker of the Year and First Team All-Ivy, Emmie Lau repeated on the First Team and was named Academic All-Ivy, and Annie Burton received second team honors, announced the Ivy League on Tuesday.
Mascone leads the nation in total points (98) and points per game (6.53). Her 62 total goals are also tops in the Ivy and her 4.13 goals per game are second most. She led the Ivy League with five Offensive Player of the Week accolades and was named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week. Mascone shattered two 30+ year records at Brown this season – most points in a season (1986) and goals in a season (1991). She is the third-ever "Player of the Year" at Brown and the fifth to win a major award, the first since Amanda Hatton was named Rookie of the Year in 1996.
Lau repeated on the First Team and Academic All-Ivy after a sensational 2023 breaking the single-season and program record in draw controls. Lau registered 96 draw controls for 261 in her Brown career. The 96 broke Caroline Zaffino's (2018) mark and the 261 surpassed the previous standard of 229, set by Grace Healy (2011-14). Lau added 19 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers this season.
Burton ranked second in the Ivy with 2.53 assists per game, also second in single-season program history with 38 total assists. She moved into the top 10 with 59 total points this season (21 goals), tied for sixth-most at Brown.
