
Sailing Finishes Fourth and Eighth at ICSA Nationals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Brown University coed and women's sailing teams competed in their respective National Championships over the past weekend.
The coed sailing team finished in fourth place out of 16 teams in the ICSA Open Team Racing National Championship. The Bears were just one win shy of finishing the event in third place. Yale University came in third ahead of Brown. Harvard University finished in second place, with Roger Williams University winning the event. Guthrie Braun, Leyton Borcherding, Liam O'Keefe, Connor Nelson, Emily Mueller, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Savannah Young, and Vera Allen represented the Bears in the competition.
The women's sailing team finished in eighth place out of 12 teams in the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship. Brielle Willoughby, Charlotte Costikyan, Katharine Doble, Katherine McNamara, Laura Hamilton, Brianna Ross, Menasha Leport, Kathering Majette, Lily Shore, and Francesca Edmands competed in the race for Brown. The Bears were just one win out of the top six in the race.
The Bears now await the selections for the College Sailing Women's and Open Fleet Racing Championships which will take place from May 20-27 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
