Track and Field Rounds Out Competition at NC State and Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Brown track and field teams rounded out competition this weekend at the Raleigh Relays at NC State and the Black & Gold Invitational at Bryant University. The men's team finished fourth out of 14 teams, and the women finished second out of 15 at Bryant.
At NC State, Daniel Sarisky ran the second fastest time in program history in the 100 meter dash, and the women's 4x400m relay team ran the seventh-fastest time in program history.
At Bryant, Kendra Ezeama turned in the No. 10 shot put in women's program history, while Julia'Belle Reyfman had the 10th-ranked javelin in program history in her collegiate outdoor debut.
RALEIGH RELAYS
Sarisky ran the No. 2 time in program history in the 100m dash at 10.45 seconds, finishing eighth overall out of 69 and trimming 0.20 seconds off his personal record. Sarisky also ran 21.79 in the 200 meters. Jack Kelley ran a 48.44 in the 400 meters and Jesse Edelstein set anew PR of 1:52.85 in the 800 meters.
Marcus Gillespie ran 14.28 seconds in the 110m hurdles, just 0.02 seconds off his PR. The 4x100m relay team of Gillespie, Zach Love, Sarisky and Skyler Hall combined to finish in 41.55 seconds.
In the 4x400m relay, the team of Maddelynn Brooks, Alyssa Jackson, Elle Riley and Jenna Lowrey combined for the seventh fastest time in program history at 3:44.70. Stephanie Kriss led Brown in the 1500m meters at 4:37.25, and Isolde McManus set a new 5K PR of 17:08.90.
BLACK & GOLD INVITATIONAL
The Bears picked up eight points in the 800 meters with Jake Haley (1:55.58) and Naveen Sharma (1:56.49) finishing fourth and sixth, respectively. John Ryan turned in a runner-up showing in the 1500m with his time of 3:53.93. Two Bears scored points in the 5000m with Sebastian Margetts (14:59.05) taking sixth place and John Farrell (15:01.96) finishing seventh. Evan Sherman finished runner-up in the 10K in 30:41.54.
Brown took four of the top seven spots in the long jump with Frank Monahan-Morang (7.21m) taking first place, Sam Hurcomb (6.92m) finishing second, Mubaraq Aderogba (6.61m) in fourth and JonCarlo Migaly (6.36m) in seventh.
Karon Johnson finished runner-up in the shot put at 15.71 meters, Ethan Wordell (1st/57.78) and Keith Daigneau (3rd/53.74m) landed on the podium in the hammer, while Eddie Webb (53.99m) and Liu Rothschild (48.94m) scored in the javelin.
In the 200 meters, Chiamaka Odenigbo (15.42) and Kate Scanlan (26.07) scored points for Brown in the 200 meters. Scanlan also scored points in the 500 meters (59.92) and Emily Mrakovcic (4:45.44) scored points in seventh place of the 1500 meters. Simone Dunbar (14.67) and Delaney Seligmann (14.83) scored in the 100m hurdles and Iris Wang picked up points in the 400m hurdles with her fourth place finish of 1:07.32.
Nene Mokonchu (1.66m) took home first place in the high jump while Lily Reynolds (1.61m) scored points in fourth place. Seligmann (5.44m) and Simone Dunbar (5.41m) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the long jump. Daryn Davis rook runner-up in the triple jump (11.62m).
In the shot put, Kendra Ezeama (14.28m) took runner-up for the No. 10 mark in program history. Michelyn Appiah picked up six points for her fourth place finish of 13.27m and also earned 10 points for a second place finish in the discus at 40.98m. Four Bears scored points in the hammer throw with Sophia Gallucci leading the way in second place at 53.90m, and Julia'Belle Reyfman registered the 10-ranked mark in program history of the javelin with her with her second place finish of 41.09m.
Brown will compete next weekend at the UMass Flagship Opener and the Hurricane Alumni Invitational at the University of Miami.
