NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 23 Brown women's lacrosse team fell to No. 16 Yale by a score of 10-5 on Saturday.

Brown (8-3, 1-2 Ivy) fell behind early as Yale (9-0, 3-0 Ivy) scored the first four goals of the game. The Bears pulled it within two but could not get any closer.

Senior Julia Ford led the Bears with two goals. Senior Mia Mascone, junior Greta Criqui and freshman Beth Anderson each scored a goal. Junior Annie Burton and Mascone each posted an assist.

Yale was led in scoring by three goals from Fallon Vaughn.

After falling behind 4-0, Mascone got Brown on the board halfway through the second quarter. Criqui's goal with 1:02 left in the first half cut the deficit to 4-2.

Yale opened the second half with two goals before Ford answered midway through the third but the Bulldogs used a 3-0 run to take a commanding 9-3 lead.

Anderson scored her first goal of the season in the fourth quarter, while Ford added her 22nd three minutes later.

Brown will return home for its next game when the Bears host Dartmouth on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m.
