Bedell Named Specialist of the Week by GEC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the second time in the last three weeks, Brown junior gymnast Julia Bedell has been named the GEC Specialist of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
In this past Sunday's dual meet against Yale, Bedell anchored and won both of her events, earning a 9.800 on vault and an impressive 9.900 on floor. Her floor score is tied for seventh-best in program history. Her performances were critical in helping Brown overtake Yale on the final rotation to win the dual meet with a season-high score of 194.025.
This is the second time this season Bedell has been recognized as the Specialist of the Week. Jessica Lin earned the same honor last week, meaning a Brown gymnast has won Specialist of the Week following each of Brown's' three meets this season.
Brown will compete next on Sunday at the University of New Hampshire against the Wildcats and Towson.
