PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Head Coaching Chair for Brown Varsity Women's Soccer Kia McNeill announced the addition of Hogan Vivier '16 as an assistant coach. Vivier was a four-year student-athlete for the Bears.
A Cumberland native, Vivier most recently spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Rhode Island, additionally serving as recruiting coordinator.
"I want to thank Kia McNeill for not only getting me into college coaching but for now trusting me to be a part of her staff," said Vivier. "Returning to my alma mater has been a dream of mine since I began my coaching career and I feel so grateful that it has become a reality. I have been blessed with great coaches and players who have helped prepare me well for my dream job. As a student-athlete, I got to experience first-hand how special Brown University is and now I have the unique privilege of giving back to the program that started my college soccer career. I am beyond excited to be back home and I cannot wait to join this elite program as we continue to show the country what Brown Women's Soccer can do."
"I am thrilled to add Hogan Vivier to our coaching staff," said McNeill. "From the time I met her years ago, she has always had a passion for coaching and an enthusiastic vision of what Brown Women's Soccer could be. She has gained valuable D1 experience at Troy, Western Michigan, and the University of Rhode Island, and now everything has come full circle with her coming back home to Brown. I look forward to working with her, and I am confident she will make her impact felt within Brown Women's Soccer. She knows the school, the city, and the program which allows us to hit the ground running and waste no time continuing to develop a championship program."
Before returning to the state of Rhode Island, Vivier spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Western Michigan (2020-22) and two years at Troy as a graduate assistant, helping the Trojans to a 12-3-4 mark in 2019.
Vivier was a defender for the Bears from 2012-15, appearing in 34 games with 16 starts. She began coaching at The Wheeler School as an assistant women's soccer, women's basketball and women's lacrosse coach.
The nationally-ranked Bears won their fourth consecutive Ivy League title in 2023 and advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
