Women's Lacrosse Hosts Sacred Heart in 2024 Home Opener

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â No. 23 Brown women's lacrosse is set to play at Stevenson-Pincince Field for the first time this season on Saturday at noon when Sacred Heart comes to town.
The Bears are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2020, which includes an upset win at No. 22 UMass in the season opener.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

Scouting the Bears
- Brown is off to its best start since the 2020 season with a 2-0 record and is ranked No. 23 in the nation in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Top 25 Poll.
- The Bears defeated UAlbany on the road, 14-10, last time out. Senior Mia Mascone led the team with three goals and one assist.
- Seniors Nathalie Ahn and Julia Ford, and junior Greta Criqui each had two goals, while senior Maddie Joyce, junior Paige Gillen and sophomore Kiki Tormey all scored once. Junior Annie Burton led the way with two assists.
- Sophomore Claire Mahoney finished with six saves to improve her record in net to 2-0.
- Brown has 38 ground balls compared to 24 for opponents, and 21 caused turnovers to 11 for opponents.
- The Bears have a 96.8 clear percentage (30-31), which ranks sixth in nation.
- Sacred Heart enters Saturday with a 0-2 record with a 15-7 loss to UMass Lowell and a 16-8 loss at Bryant.
- The Pioneers were picked to repeat as NEC champions in the preseason poll with nine of the 11 first-place votes.
- Sacred Heart finished 11-8 overall and 8-0 in the their conference in 2023. The Pioneers won the NEC Tournament Championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament where they fell to North Carolina in the first round.
- Graduate student Emma Kittredge and sophomore Maggie Araneo led the team with four goals each.
- In goal, junior Lisa Martin has a 16.67 goals against average and .341 save percentage in two starts. Senior Juliana Henry played the final 15 minutes against UMass Lowell and finished with two saves and two goals allowed.
