NEW YORK – Brown (8-17, 4-6 Ivy) senior Kimo Ferrari shined in a career performance and a late swat by Aaron Cooley led the Bears to a 66-64 victory over Columbia (13-10, 4-6 Ivy) on Friday evening in the Jonathan Schiller Court in Francis S. Levien Gymnasium.

Ferrari finished with 18 points on six triples, Kalu Anya added a season-high (tie) 13 rebounds and career-high seven assists, Nana Owusu-Anane posted nine of his 13 points in the second half to go with three blocks, his most in a game since the 2023-24 season opener (at Colgate) and Kino Lilly Jr. collected 11 of his 14 points in second stanza.

FIRST HALF
Ferrari and Alexander Lesburt Jr. remained hot in the first, with a combined 21 points as the Bears took a 33-26 edge at the half. Both shot 4-of-5 from the field with all of Ferrari's points coming from deep.

Anya crashed the boards with seven rebounds and dished out four assists in the opening stanza.

The perimeter defense shined, limiting the Lions to 1-of-10 shooting from three-point range, while going 6-of-14 from long distance.

SECOND HALF
Owusu-Anane got rolling offensively to end the Lions' run and regain the lead for Brown 37-35 with 16:42 remaining in regulation. The layup came off Anya's fifth assist.

Ferrari's career night continued as the senior drained several more for 18 points on six threes to add to the Brown cushion.

Lilly Jr. got hot as well and hit three from downtown to extend the Bears' lead before another Lions run knotted the game at 54 with 6:57 remaining.

Columbia took a lead with 4:10 to go but Lilly Jr.'s fourth three-pointer of the game erased the Lion lead.

Moment later, Kino's first trip to the line at the 1:42 mark led to two made free throws to once again tie the game.

With less than a minute to play, Cooley was fouled and made both at the charity stripe. On the Columbia possession, a drive to the basket was met by Cooley and Owusu-Anane, and the block preserved the Brown lead and split the series as the Bears defeated the Lions by two in the Big Apple.
