Women's Basketball to Host Princeton and Penn in Big Weekend

​​PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will welcome Princeton and Penn to the Pizzitola Sports Center this weekend. With Brown and Penn battling for the fourth and final spot in the upcoming Ivy Madness Tournament, Saturday's contest against the Quakers carries strong tournament implications.
The Bears and Tigers will face off at 7 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday's matchup with Penn is set for a 5 p.m. start. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Friday's game with Princeton is presented by Fab Living Reality.

The first 100 students and first 100 faculty and staff members to attend Saturday's game will receive a free pink t-shirt.

- Brown senior guard Kyla Jones enters Friday's game just 16 points (984) shy of 1,000 for her career. She would become the 23rd player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark. Jones enters the weekend third in the Ivy League with 16.6 points per game.
- After the first 4-1 start to Ivy League play since the 2005-06 season, Brown has dropped three games in a row to Penn, Princeton and Columbia.
- Last Saturday at Columbia, Brown outshot Columbia by a 45.0%-44.9% margin. It was the first time this season Brown lost a game when outshooting its opponent (7-1).
- Brown has been scoring at a high rate by averaging 68.0 points over its last two games. However, it has also allowed an average of 81.0 points over its current three-game skid.
- Brown is shooting 44.1 percent overall and 43.8 percent from three-point range over the last two games. Over the same span, the Bears are getting out-rebounded by a 47.5-25.0 margin, including 47-15 on the offensive glass. The Bears have been without their top rebounder, Alyssa Moreland (6.8 rpg) in both of those contests.
- Grace Arnolie (24 pts) and Kyla Jones (27 pts) led Brown at Columbia by combining for 51 of the team's 73 points and nine of Brown's 13 assists. After Brown rallied to tie the score at 51 midway through the third quarter, the Lions roared back and used a 15-0 over the next four minutes to take control.
