LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Brown men's basketball team (7-5) fell 88-54 at #10 Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon inside Rupp Arena.
"The last two games have been a great experience for our players and everybody affiliated with our program," Head Men's Basketball Coaching Chair Mike Martin '04 said. "Obviously, we would've liked to have performed better today. I think Kentucky did a great job of making us uncomfortable, from the very beginning we struggled offensively and struggled to really get into our flow."
Kino Lilly Jr. and Landon Lewis led the way offensively for the Bears as Lilly Jr. had a team-high 16 points and Lewis scored 15. The two combined to shoot 13-24 from the floor. Lilly Jr. and Lewis both scored in double-figures for the 11th time this season.
Kentucky (11-2) held a 39-27 lead at halftime while forcing 14 Brown turnovers. Lilly Jr. and Lewis combined for 16 of the Bears' 27 points. The Bears and Wildcats both had 12 first half points in the paint as Brown had seven opening half bench points.
Kentucky led as much as 36 in the second half before earning an 88-54 victory. As a team, Brown shot 40.8 percent from the floor and 23.8 percent from three-point range. On the glass, Brown out-rebounded Kentucky 35-29.
Brown will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 5 when they close non-conference play against Johnson & Wales, tip-off from the Pizzitola Sports Center is set for 2:00 p.m.
