Men’s Basketball Travels to #8 Kansas on Sunday

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Brown men's basketball team (7-3) will travel to #8 Kansas (8-2) on Sunday afternoon, tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST at Allen Fieldhouse.

Last Time Out
Brown picked up its sixth consecutive win with an 84-80 double overtime victory over Rhode Island at the Pizzitola Sports Center (Dec. 10), Rhode Island was 9-0 entering the contest.
Aaron Cooley scored a career-high 19 points, on the defensive end the Bears had 15 steals, 11 blocks, and forced 21 turnovers.
History Made, The Chase Continues
Kino Lilly Jr. is now the all-time leader in program history with 280 three-pointers made. Lilly Jr. also sits fourth all-time in program history with 1,608 career points, Lilly Jr. is 11 points away from being the third-leading scorer and 61 points away from being the second-leading scorer in program history.
KIno's World
On Nov. 19, Lilly Jr. was named to the Lou Henson Award Early-Season Watch List. The senior has scored 23 points in three consecutive games and is averaging 20.2 points on 42.3 shooting from the field and 44.4 shooting from three-point range this season.
Lilly Jr.'s 4.0 three-pointers per game puts him on pace to hit 108 this season, which would break Brown's single-season record set by Sean McGonagill during the 2013-14 season, Lilly Jr. hit 90 triples during the 2023-24 season.
Lilly Jr.'s 4.0 three-pointers per game ranks third in the nation and his 40 total three-pointers ranks sixth in the nation. He also ranks fifth all-time on the Ivy League three-point field goals made list, his is two triples away from being fourth in Ivy League history.
Cooley Continues To Impress
Aaron Cooley is averaging 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, the senior has double-digit scoring efforts in nine out of 10 games and has three double-doubles.
Cooley scored a career-high 19 points in Brown's 84-80 double overtime win over Rhode Island, he also had a career-high four blocks against the Rams. Cooley also had a career-high 15 rebounds in Brown's season opener at Siena (Nov. 4), the most by an Ivy League player this season. Cooley has double-digit rebounds in four out of 10 games this season.
The Roxbury, Mass. native is shooting 50.0 percent from the floor this season and has shot 13-25 from the floor over the last two games. Cooley also leads the Ivy League with 5.90 defensive rebounds per game.
Lewis' Leap
In the absence of Nana Owusu-Anane, Landon Lewis has scored in double figures in all 10 games this season. Lewis netted a career-high 21 points in Brown's win over Bryant (Dec. 6) on 9-12 shooting from the floor.
Lewis recorded his first-ever double-double in Brown's over Sacred Heart (Nov. 17) with 14 points and 11 rebounds; he followed up that effort with 17 points on 8-11 shooting in Brown's win at Canisius (Nov. 23).
Lewis' 2.0 blocks per game ranks 25th in the nation and his 20 total blocks sits 31st in the nation. Lewis recorded a career-high five blocks against Holy Cross (Nov. 16). Lewis' blocks per game and total blocks both lead the Ivy League. Lewis has recorded four or more blocks on three separate occasions, the junior most recently had four rejections against Rhode Island.
Lewis' 3.1 offensive boards per game ranks first in the Ivy League, his 7.4 rebounds per game sits third in the Ivy League. The Los Angeles, Calif. native is shooting 65.0 percent from the floor this season, which ranks 14th in the nation. Lewis is averaging 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season.
These Bears
This is the second time under Head Men's Basketball Coaching Chair Mike Martin '04 that the Bears have won six consecutive games and the second time in as many seasons, Brown ended the 2023-24 regular season on a six-game winning streak.
This winning streak also matches the longest non-conference winning streak under Martin '04 (2018-19), this is the longest non-conference winning streak against D1 opponents. Brown's six-game non-conference winning streak during the 2018-19 season featured a win over Salve Regina (D3).
Brown's 7-3 record through the first 10 games of this season is the best 10-game start under Martin '04 and the best 10-game start since the 2001-02 season.
After starting the season 0-2, Brown has rattled off six consecutive wins and seven wins in its last eight games, including three consecutive road wins.
The Emergence of Dabo
N'famara Dabo had a career night in Brown's win over Rhode Island. The sophomore had a career-high seven points, seven rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in a career-high 24 minutes played.
Against Bryant, Dabo had seven rebounds in 21 minutes played. Six out of Dabo's seven rebounds came in the second half, he played 14 minutes and was +11 in the second half, which was a game-high. Dabo also had two blocks in the second half at Bryant and has five blocks and three steals over the last two games.
Malcolm Joins The Lineup
Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson joined the Brown starting lineup ahead of its game against Sacred Heart, the Bears are a perfect 6-0 with Wrisby-Jefferson in the starting lineup.
Block Party
Brown ranks 11th in the nation and first in the Ivy League with 5.7 blocks per game, the Bears have accumulated at least five blocks in six out of 10 games this season. Brown recorded a season-high 11 blocks against Rhode Island.
The Bears have two players who have recorded at least five blocks in a game this season: N'famara Dabo (Nov. 15) and Landon Lewis (Nov. 16). Lewis has recorded four or more blocks in three games this season.

The Bears rank second in the Ivy League in scoring defense (68.0). Brown's three-point percentage defense ranks first in the Ivy League (31.3).
In its win over Vermont, Brown held the Catamounts to just six points in the final 8:18 of the contest. Brown also held Stony Brook to just one three-pointer made (1-16), the fewest since the Bears allowed one triple made against Colorado (Nov. 22, 2021).
Against Rhode Island, Brown had three players (Aaron Cooley, Landon Lewis, N'famara Dabo) have at least three blocks and five players (Aaron Cooley, Jeremiah Jenkins, Kino Lilly Jr., Lyndel Erold, N'famara Dabo) have at least two steals. Brown tallied 27 assists on 31 made field goals in its 89-70 win over Sacred Heart. The Bears' 27 assists was the most since they recorded 26 in an 88-42 win against Lyndon State (Jan. 12, 2015).
Brown has had double-digit assists in nine out of 10 games this season and 20 or more assists three times, the Bears are averaging 17.6 assists per game during its six-game winning streak.

The Bears have shot 40.6 percent from distance during their six-game winning streak, they've recorded double-digit three pointers made in three out of six games during the streak.

The Jayhawks own a perfect 6-0 record at Allen Fieldhouse this season, they snapped a two-game losing streak with a 75-60 win over NC State (Dec. 14).
