Pineau Named ECAC Defender of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. – Brown men's hockey assistant captain Alex Pineau has been named the ECAC Defender of the Week following Brown's 1-0-1 weekend against the Air Force Falcons.
In Saturday's 5-2 win over the Falcons, Pineau struck for two goals in the first period and added an assist in the third period for a three-point night.
For Pineau, Saturday marked his first career multi-goal game and third career multi-point effort. His three points are a career best.
The Bears are unbeaten over the last five games and are 3-0-2 during the stretch. To this point of the season, Pineau and the Brown defense allow just 2.0 goals per game, the fewest in the ECAC and tenth-best mark in the nation.
It's the second straight week the Bears have picked up weekly conference honors. Last week, Lawton Zacher and Charlie Gollob picked up Goalie of the Week and Rookie of the Week recognition, respectively.
The Bears close out the first half schedule this Saturday (Dec. 7) with a trip to historic Matthews Arena to take on the Northeastern Huskies (3-6-3, 1-4-2 HEA).
