Volleyball Hosts Harvard & Dartmouth for Final Home Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball closes out its home schedule with matches against Harvard and Dartmouth on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The match against Harvard will begin at 7 p.m. and the match against Dartmouth will start at 5 p.m.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Friday's game against Colgate will be Brown's Faculty & Staff Appreciation game and there will be a giveaway for students. On Saturday, Brown will honor its four seniors prior to the game against the Big Green.

FIRST SERVE
- The fight for a spot in the Ivy League Tournament is heating up as the Bears sit one game out of fourth place behind Harvard. The top four teams in the league will make the tournament on Nov. 22-23.
- Brown swept Penn but lost in a five-set battle with Princeton last weekend. Against the Tigers, Mariia Sidorova had a career-high 26 kills and became the first Bear since 2018 to have at least 25 kills in a match.
- Julia Kakkis continued her strong play as Brown's setter and earned her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor due to her contributions. Kakkis had a career-best 53 assists in the match against Princeton.
- Jessie Golden leads the Ivy League with 4.34 digs per set and during league play Golden has increased that number to 4.94 per set. Against Penn, Golden collected her 1,000th dig of her career.
- In the first meeting with Harvard, Brown earned a three-set win over the Crimson. Kayla Griebl (14) and Sidorova (10) each had double-figure kills and Kakkis picked up 32 assists.
- The Bears took down Dartmouth in four sets in Hanover earlier this year. Griebl led Brown with 21 kills and Sidorova had 14 in the win. Kakkis led Brown with 37 assists and Jessie Golden picked up 25 digs.
- Harvard enters the weekend with a 10-9 overall record and 5-5 mark in Ivy League play. The Crimson beat Cornell but lost to Columbia last weekend.
- Brynne Faltinksy leads Harvard with 3.49 kills per set. Rocky Aguirre is guiding the offense with 8.74 assists per set.
- The Crimson are second in the league with 2.36 blocks per set, led by Bennett Trubey's 1.18.
- Dartmouth is 10-10 on the year and 3-7 in Ivy play. The Big Green have lost five of their last six matches with all five losses coming in four sets.
- Kauany Gutz is one of two players on the roster averaging at least 2.00 kills per set at 3.28. Maddie LaFata is second on the team at 2.45.
- Emma Engstrom leads Dartmouth's defense with 4.14 digs per set.
