Volleyball Downed in Three Sets at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown volleyball (3-8, 0-2 Ivy) was downed in three sets by Princeton (4-8, 2-1 Ivy) on Friday, falling to the Tigers 26-24, 25-15, 25-23.
Kayla Griebl had a season-high 12 kills and Mariia Sidorova finished the night with 11 kills. Julia Kakkis guided the offense with 27 assists.
On defense, Jessie Golden collected 11 digs and Beau Vanderlaan and Kakkis each had two blocks.
Brown hit just .112 on the night, while Princeton finished the night hitting .290. The Tigers held a big advantage at the net, finishing with 11 blocks to Brown's three.
The teams traded runs in the first set with Princeton taking a 24-22 lead. Brown fought off two set points to tie the set at 24 but two-straight points from Princeton ended the first set.
The Bears fell behind 19-8 in the second set but tried to come back in the set with a 5-1 run that featured two kills from Sidorova. Brown got within eight but never got closer the rest of the way.
Princeton took at 15-10 lead before the Bears used a 5-1 run that featured two blocks by Kakkis, Vanderlaan and Sophia Wolfson. Brown trailed 22-17 but got within two before Princeton earned set point with two-straight points. Kills by Vanderlaan and Kakkis helped Brown make the score 24-23 but a kill by Princeton ended the match.
