Women's Tennis Completes Day Two of Bruno Classic

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown women's tennis team continued to showcase their strength at the second day of the Bruno Classic.

In doubles, Addison Ahlstrom and Ali Maguy competed against UMass Amherst's Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye. Faessler and Tye were able to secure a win with a. 6-1 final over Ahlstrom and Maguy.

Lindsey Hofflander and Gabby Soliman had a close match against the Minutewomen's Mariana Campino and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul, with the Minutewomen earning the win (6-4).

Anne Moody and Anne Yang took on Rutgers' doubles pairing of Cindy Zhou and Naomi Karki. The pairs fought through the set, with Scarlet Knights ultimately coming out on top (7-5).

The Bears powered through singles, collecting five wins. Bella Hu earned a win over UMass' Thamonpan Jonglertrakul at the second line.

Anne Yang won her singles match against the Minutewomen's Amelia Tye in two sets (6-4,7-5).

Dani Ben-Abraham came out on top against Cosima Trinity Calinescu in two sets. Ben-Abraham won the first set 6-2, and took the second set 6-1 earning the win.

Ali Maguy continued her singles streak earning her fourth singles win over Rutgers' Cindy Zhou (7-5, 4-6, 10-5).

The competition rounded out with Hannah Shen earning a win in two sets at the sixth line. She defeated the Scarlet Knights' Naomi Karki.

The Bears will compete in the final day of the Bruno Classic tomorrow at the outdoor courts at 9 a.m.
