PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Sophomore India McDadi and freshman Ava DeCoste found the back of the net in Brown's 4-2 loss against No. 3 Clarkson Saturday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium.
The Bears drop to 8-12-1 overall and 4-9-1 in the ECAC, while the Golden Knights improve to 23-1-2 and 12-1-1 in the conference.
Brown had a handful of strong scoring chances in the first from sophomores Gali Levy, Jade Iginla and McDadi. Clarkson broke the scoreless tie with 20 second remaining in the period on a goal by sophomore Sena Catterall with assists by grad student Darcie Lappan and senior Nicole Gosling.
The Bears took the lead in the second. DeCoste brought the puck past center ice and dumped it off to McDadi, who ripped a shot top shelf past the goalie, to even the score at one at the 13:21 mark. Three minutes later it was DeCoste who gave Brown the lead off a rebound from an Iginla shot. Clarkson quickly evened the score at two when senior Anne Cherkowski scored unassisted.
The Golden Knights would score two more in the third to put the game away. Gosling worked with Cherkowski for the game-winner on a power play 1:46 into the period and Catterall scored on an empty netter with just over two minutes to go.
