Ivy League Announces Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brown men's soccer was voted to finish seventh in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, as announced by the league on Thursday.
Penn, the defending league champion, was selected as the favorite, earning nine out of 16 first-place votes and 119 total points. Cornell earned six first-place votes and was tabbed second. Harvard collected the remaining first-place vote and was selected third.
Yale was picked to finish fourth followed by Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown and Columbia.
This season sees the introduction of the Ivy League men's soccer tournament. The top four teams in the standings will battle in early of November for the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The Bears open their season on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. against UMass at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Ivy League play for Brown begins on Saturday, Sept. 23, against Columbia.
