PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Head coach Britt Broady announced the 2023 Brown Field Hockey schedule. The 16-game slate includes six games at Goldberger Family Field and nine non-conference contests.
This fall marks the first time the Ivy League will hold a postseason field hockey tournament. The top-four teams at the conclusion of the regular season will compete in the tournament to determine the conference's automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament.
Brown opens the season with six straight non-conference games, including a pair of opening weekend games on College Hill against LIU (Sept. 1) and Holy Cross (Sept. 3) before taking on regional foes in Northeastern (Sept. 8) and Providence College (Sept. 10) on the road.
The Bears travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on Longwood (Sept. 16) and Miami (Ohio) the following day. Brown looks for its second straight win over the RedHawks, a 2022 NCAA Tournament team.
The team returns to the East Coast and opens Ivy League play at Harvard on Friday, Sept. 22 before taking on UMass Lowell on the road on Sunday (Sept. 24).
After three straight conference match-ups against Dartmouth (Sept. 30), Yale (Oct. 4), and Princeton (Oct. 6), the Bears head to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to take on the Boston College Eagles (Oct. 9).
Bruno closes the 2023 regular season with four games, including three Ivy contests, in the final two weeks. Brown heads to Columbia (Oct. 15) before welcoming Cornell (Oct. 20) and Georgetown (Oct. 22) for the final two home games of the regular season.
Brown and Penn square off in the final regular season contest of the season (Oct. 28) before the inaugural Ivy League Field Hockey Tournament (Nov. 3-5).
