Track and Field Competes at UMass in Final Regular Season Meet

AMHERST, Mass. – The Brown track and field teams took to the track for the final time before next weekend's league championships on Saturday afternoon, competing along with eight other (seven Division I) programs at the UMass Pre-Championship Invitational.
Brown placed four in the top five of the women's 1500 meters with Isolde McManus (2nd/4:33.32) and Nimrit Ahuja (3rd/4:33.86) both hitting ECAC qualifying times. Stephanie Kriss (4:34.97) and Isa Stronski (4:36.23) also finished in the top five and met NEICAAA qualifying times.
Maxine Montoya hit a New England qualifying time in the 5,000 meters (17:56.44) and finished third overall, and Kate Orchard won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:23.80, narrowly missing a personal record.
On the men's side, Henry Wood represented Brown in the 800 meters in 1:57.51. Nate Price led the team in the 1500 meters in 3:59.64, and Tyler Gurth turned in a 14.46m mark in the shot put.
Up next, Brown and the rest of the Ivy League will turn their attention to the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, which will take place next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8 at Penn's Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
