Women's Water Polo Heads to Michigan for Three-Game Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo will hit the road for the final time this regular season with three games over the weekend at Michigan.
Brown will begin the weekend with two games on Saturday (April 15), taking on Saint Francis to start the day at 9:30 a.m. before playing No. 12 Michigan at 3 p.m. The weekend will close with a game against Bucknell at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
All three games will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
ABOUT BROWN
- Brown is 21-8 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. The Bears locked up their second-straight 20-win season and third in the last four years when they beat Bucknell 14-9 in the last meeting with the Bison.
- The Bears split two games last weekend with a 13-4 victory against Connecticut College before losing 8-5 against No. 7 Princeton.
- Zoe King leads the way for Brown's offense with 41 goals. Claire Pisani has 33 goals and four other Bears have scored at least 25 goals this season.
- Lily Weiser leads the team with 33 assists and Bryn Gioffredi is second with 25.
- On defense, Madeleine Poissonnier is tops on the team with 34 steals. Sophie Golub is leading Brown with 18 blocks.
In goal, Shauna Franke has a team-high 132 saves with Roxanne Hazuka second at 93.
ABOUT SAINT FRANCIS
- Saint Francis is 12-18-1 on the season overall and 2-5 in conference play. The Red Flash had lost three-striaght games, all in conference, before beating Mercyhurst last weekend.
- Brown earned a 16-3 win over Saint Francis on April 1 in the first meeting of the season.
ABOUT MICHIGAN
- Michigan is 19-9 on the year and 6-1 in conference play. The Wolverines are currently ranked No. 12 in the nation, coming into the weekend. Michigan's only conference loss was an 11-9 defeat to Princeton.
- Brown fell to Michigan 13-7 in the first meeting of the year, which came in Providence on April 1.
ABOUT BUCKNELL
- Bucknell is 5-21 on the year and has lost nine-straight games. The Bison are looking for their first conference win of the season.
- Brown beat Bucknell the last time the Bison were in the pool with the Bears coming out on top 14-9.
