Women's Water Polo Wins Three Games on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo (12-3, 0-2) earned three wins during Saturday's play in the Harvard Invitational.
Brown started the day with wins over La Salle and Siena at Harvard before coming back to College Hill to pick up a win over Carthage College.
Brown 18, La Salle 4
The Bears cruised in the first game of the day as 11 different Bears found the back of the net in the 14-goal win over La Salle.
Zoe King and Madeleine Poissonnier led the Bears with three goals each. Lily Weiser, Claire Pisani and Claire Poissonnier all had two goals.
The Bears jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead after one quarter but Brown took over during the second. King scored two of her three goals in the second eight minutes as Brown won the second quarter 7-0.
Brown pushed its lead to 13-1 with goals from King and Wieser to start the third. Claire Poissonnier scored both her goals in the fourth.
Brown 16, Siena 6
The goals kept coming in the second game of the day as Brown beat Siena 16-6. Sophie Golub tallied four goals and eight other Bears scored in the victory.
Another quick start helped the Bears as Brown jumped out to a 5-0 lead with two goals coming from Pisani in the first quarter.
Brown's lead hit 6-0 before Siena's first goal and the Bears took an 8-3 lead into the half. The second half saw Brown win the first eight minutes 5-3, pushing the lead to 12-6. The Bears closed out the victory scoring the last three goals of the game in the fourth quarter.
Brown 14, Carthage 5
The Bears closed the night with a strong 14-5 win over Carthage College to finish the day 3-0. Brown was led in scoring by Malia Honda and Sierra Martin who each had three goals. Alessandra D'Arcy and Claire Eusey each scored twice for Brown.
Brown jumped out to a 9-0 lead and led 9-1 at halftime. Martin and Eusey each scored two goals during the run while Tallulah Clancy, Sabrina Shipley and Brenna Pangelinan all scored once.
Honda had two goals in the third quarter and Martin added another as Brown built its lead to 12-4. Lucy Gramley and D'Arcy each found the net in the fourth quarter.
Harvard 10, Brown 7 (Friday)
The Bears dropped the opening game of the weekend 10-7 to Harvard on Friday night. Zoe King and Emily Suong had two goals for the Bears.
With the game tied 2-2 heading into the second quarter, Harvard used a 6-0 run to take control of the game. Brown did not get closer than four until Alexandra Love scored the final goal of the game.

Brown will finish the weekend hosting Redlands and Wagner on Sunday.
