
Women's Lacrosse Bested by #12 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Brown women's lacrosse team fell to No. 12 Notre Dame 21-7 Monday evening.
Notre Dame opened the game with five straight goals, but the Bears would respond by scoring four of the next six to pull within three at 7-4 halfway through the second quarter.
The Fighting Irish led 10-5 at the half, but Brown opened the third quarter with two quick goals to again pull within three, forcing Notre Dame to call a timeout. The home team came out of that break and went on a 11-0 run to effectively end the game.
Greta Criqui led Brown with three goals, her third straight game finding the back of the net at least three times. Maddie Joyce scored twice and Claire Jeschke had three points thanks to one goal and two assists. Julia Ford had the other Brown goal and Leah Caputo registered one assist.
Criqui and Joyce each had a team-high three draws, while Margaret Woodberry led the Bears with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Woodberry also made six saves in goal after getting the start.
The Bears will now return home to begin the final five games of the regular season, all against Ivy League foes, with a matchup against Yale this Saturday, April 1 at 12 p.m.
