Sailing Sweeps Top Three Spots at Team Race Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown sailing teams competed at a pair of events this weekend, sweeping the top three spots at the Brown Team Race Invite and taking third out of 16 teams at the St. Mary's Team Race Interconference.

At the Team Race Invite that featured nine total teams, the Bears team that finished in first posted a 15-1 record on the event. Bears placing first included Jed Bell, William George, Leyton Borcherding, Caroline Bayless, Menasha Leport, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Hannah Sellers, and Helen Horangic.

The second-place team featured Connor Macken, Mason Stang, Blaire McCarthy, Tommy Styron, Janelle Li, Sierra Bornheim, Brianna Ross, Savannah Young, and Talia Levine.

Rounding out the Bears competing at the Team Race Invite, Brielle Willoughby, Charlotte Costikyan, Katherine McNamara, Katharine Doble, Emi Ruth, Catherine Morrissette, Francesca Edmands, and Kaitlyn Hamilton combined to place third.

At the weekend's other event, the St. Mary's Team Race Interconference, the Bears finished in third with a 5-2 record. Guthrie Braun, Liam O'Keefe, Connor Nelson, Lily Shore, Emily Mueller, Hunter Zonnenberg, Nora Ong, and Isabel Cox represented Brown.
