Need to Know
- Brown is currently tied with Cornell for the fourth and final Ivy Madness spot. The Bears and Big Red are both 6-6 in league action with two games remaining against the same opponents, Columbia and Yale. The clearest path for the Bears to qualify for the postseason would be to win their final two games while having Cornell drop one of their remaining two.
- Seven of the league's eight teams are still technically alive in the race for Ivy Madness. Harvard and Dartmouth sit just behind Cornell and Brown at 5-7. If the Big Red and Bears were to slip up in their final two games, it could open the door for the Crimson or Big Green.
- Mike Martin '04 became the winningest head coach in program history with the team's victory over Cornell on Feb. 11. It was the 134th win of Martin's career, passing the 54-year-old record held by Stanley Ward. Martin accomplished the feat in five fewer seasons than the 15 it took Ward.
- Paxson Wojcik has set a new career-high point total in three of the last six games. He had 22 against Cornell back on Jan. 21, 23 at Harvard on Feb. 4, and 24 last time out against Penn.
- Nana Owusu-Anane averaged 13 rebounds per game last weekend. He leads the Ivy League with 8.6 boards per game. In conference action, his 10.6 rebounds per contest are 2.1 more than the next closest player, Harvard's Chris Ledlum at 8.5.
- Columbia is coming off a home win over Dartmouth in its last game. Tied at 61 with 4:35 to go in the game, the Lions scored seven of their final ten points from the free throw line to pull ahead and seal the victory.
- Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa continues to lead Columbia with 13.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He is the only Ivy League guard to lead his team in rebounding.
- The Bears took down the Lions 97-85 when they faced off earlier this season in Providence.
- Nana Owusu-Anane had a career day, posting 27 points and 18 rebounds. He added three assists, two blocks, and one steal to complete the performance.
