
Track and Field Set to Host Brown Invitational this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In their final tune-up before next weekend's Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, the Brown men's and women's track and field teams will host the annual Brown Invitational this Saturday, February 18 at the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center (OMAC).

Across two meets last weekend, Brown's women had four performers land in the top-10 all-time in program history, while the men added seven, including the men's 4x400m relay and the women's DMR team.
As a team, Brown continues to dominate in the jumps, particularly in the long and triple jumps. Entering this weekend, the men rank No. 13 nationally in the long jump (7.25m) and No. 14 in the triple jump (14.50m) in the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings, with the triple jump also leading the Ivy League.
The women's squad ranks seventh in the nation in the triple jump with an average mark of 12.17 meters, with five of the six teams ahead of them coming from a Power 5 conference. The high jumpers find themselves ranked 15th, also leading the Ivy League.
Brown enters this weekend with 13 men and 19 women holding marks in the top 10 in the Ivy League. Seniors John McNeil (1st/2.10m) and Sidarth Raman (3rd/2.08m) both rank in the top three in the high jump, while McNeil also ranks fourth (7.39m) in the long jump. Frank Monahan-Morang finds himself fourth in the long jump (7.28m) and Altan Mitchell (15.36m) ranks second in the triple jump. All of those marks also sit in the top 10 in the NCAA's Northeast Region.
The women's team has five ranking in the top five in the league including three high jumpers in Chiamaka Odenigbo (1st/1.78m), Rudecia Bernard (3rd/1.73m), and Nene Mokonchu (4th/1.71m). Jada Joseph (3rd/6.05m) and Lauren Yeboah-Kodie (5th/6.01m) rank in the top five of the long jump, while Yeboah-Kodie (12.64m) also sits third in the triple jump.
Regionally, Odenigbo, Bernard and Mokonchu all rank in the top seven in the high jump, with Joseph ranking third in the high jump. Yeboah-Kodie enters the weekend ranked fourth regionally in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump.
