First Half Too Much to Overcome in Sunday Setback to Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown (3-9) outscored #RV Providence (8-2) 41-37 in the second half and shot 62.5 percent from the field in the latter stanza, but the Friars' first half was too much to overcome in Sunday's 74-54 loss at Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence.
Nana Owusu-Anane led the Bears with 15 points and added nine rebounds and three steals, Kino Lilly Jr. finished with 13 points – all in the second half – as he surpassed Gerry Alaimo in the program's scoring chart, and Kimo Ferrari led all players with four swipes.
Brown forced 18 Providence turnovers.
FIRST HALF
Owusu-Anane scored Brown's first five points with a three to open the game.
PC went on a 12-0 run for a 19-7 lead before Owusu-Anane drained a pair at the line with 8:14 remaining in the first.
The Friars took a 37-13 lead at the half. Owusu-Anane had 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.
PC shot 57.7 percent from the floor, led by Devin Carter's 10.
SECOND HALF
Brown came out aggressive in the second half, with a 10-2 run capped by Kalu Anya's and-one.
The Bears went 6-of-10 from long distance in the half, including a three-pointer by Lyndel Erold in the closing seconds.
NEXT
The Bears take a break for finals before returning to the Pizzitola Sports Center for a 2 p.m. contest against Siena on December 22.
