Women's Basketball Heads to Bryant for Midweek Matchup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball makes the short trip up to Bryant for a Wednesday night matchup against the Bulldogs. The game in Smithfield will begin at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN
- The Bears will be looking for their third-straight win and their fourth-straight road win when they take on the Bulldogs.
- Brown is coming off wins at Loyola Chicago and Monmouth where the Bears had to overcome some steep deficits.
- The Bears trailed Loyola Chicago by 16 and Monmouth by 17 in the third quarter of both games. It was the first time that brown overcame a 15-point deficit since Dec. 6, 2017 when the Bears overcame a 19-point hole against Sacred Heart.
- Kyla Jones was named Ivy League Player of the Week after guiding Brown to its two wins last week. Jones averaged 27 points on the week and matched her career-high with 34 points at Monmouth.
- Jones scored 18 of her 20 points in the second half against Loyola in the comeback and scored 16 of Brown's 18 points in the fourth quarter at Monmouth.
- The Bears' defense has been on lockdown recently as Brown has allowed less than 60 points in each of its four wins and four of its last five games.
- Brown has done a good job forcing turnovers, forcing at least 21 turnovers in each of its last four games. In the last two games, Brown has found a way to take care of the ball, turning the ball over just 13 times in each game.
- Brown won the turnover battle by 14 against Loyola Chicago, the highest margin for the Bears since winning the turnover battle by 21 against Mitchell last season.
- Bryant is 3-4 on the season and is currently on a three-game losing streak coming into the matchup.
- Mia Mancini was named America East Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals on the week. This season Mancini is third in the NCAA with 26 made threes and is leading the team with 15.4 points per game.
- Mariona Panes Fortuny is second on the team with 13.7 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game.
- Brown owns a 10-6 advantage all-time against the Bulldogs. The Bears have won two-straight and three of the last four against Bryant. The last meeting was a 63-60 win at Bryant and was the first win at Brown for Monique LeBlanc.
