Arnolie's Clutch Three Leads Women's Basketball to Win at Georgetown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball picked up a road win at Georgetown, 45-43 behind a big three and 13 points from Grace Arnolie.
Tied at 32 heading into the final quarter, Brown fell behind by four a few minutes into the quarter. A three by Olivia Young cut the deficit to one. Trailing by two with just under a minute left, Arnolie hit a three to put Brown on top 44-43.
Alyssa Moreland blocked a layup attempt with 16 seconds left and Young hit a free throw to push Brown's lead to two. Georgetown missed a tying layup with three seconds left and the Bears secured the rebound for their first win of the season.
Arnolie's 13 points mark the third-straight game to start the season and 10-straight game overall in double-figures. Ada Anamekwe and Olivia Young each had nine points, with the nine points being a career-high for Young.
Brown shot just 29 percent from the floor but the defense held Georgetown to just 36 percent shooting. Brown advantage came from deep as the Bears hit eight threes to just one for the Hoyas. Brown also went 9-for-13 from the free throw line.
The Bears outrebounded Georgetown by one, 36-35, with Mya Murray and Alyssa Moreland each grabbing six boards. Arnolie was second on the team with five. Arnolie also led Brown with three assists on the afternoon.
Brown got off to a slow start, falling behind 18-11 after the first quarter and trailed 20-11 before Young hit a three and two free throws to pull Brown within four. Five points by Isabella Mauricio cut the deficit to two. Georgetown scored with 3:36 left in the half to take four-point lead but Brown shutdown the Hoyas' offense the rest of the way and scored the last four points on the half to go into the break tied.
Both offenses came out of halftime sluggish with each team scoring just six points in the third quarter. Brown built a four-point lead after three and a free throw by Arnolie. Georgetown broke an eight-minute scoring drought to score the final four points of the quarter.

Brown will return home for its next two games with two Ocean State showdowns as the Bears will host Providence on Wednesday (Nov. 15) and Rhode Island on Friday (Nov. 17).
