2023 BROADCASTS
This season, all of Brown's games, home and away, will be streamed live on ESPN+, except for the Bears' away contest at Penn on Friday, October 27 which will be nationally televised live on ESPNU.
There will be a new format this season regarding radio/audio coverage of all Brown football games. All 10 games will no longer air on the radio and will instead feature live audio broadcasts through the Brown Audio Network on BrownBears.com/Audio. The audio broadcast for all games can be accessed online through the audio links on the team's schedule, as well as on your phone through The Varsity Network app.
OPENING KICKOFF
• Brown will host Rhode Island for the 107th meeting all-time between the two schools, their most-played non-Ivy opponent.
• Brown leads the all-time series 73-31-2. URI holds a 21-19 edge in the series since the formation of the Governor's Cup trophy in 1981.
• The matchup will put two of the top offenses in FCS Football against each other in Brown (12th/445.0 ypg) and Rhody (26th/415.6 ypg).
• URI's pass defense ranks 15th nationally with 165.8 yards per game, and will face Brown's top-ranked passing offense which averages 371.0 ypg.
• URI has won the last four matchups and will look to equal its longest winning streak in the all-time series, winning five straight from 1988-1993.
• URI's Kasim Hill and Brown's Jake Willcox are two of the most proficient passers in FCS, both ranking in the top three nationally in passing yds/game.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
• Brown is the only team in FCS Football that has not committed a turnover this season.
• Brown's turnover margin per game (+2.33) is tied for first in FCS with Harvard. Brown's total turnover margin (+7) is tied for third nationally.
• Marks the first time since 2011 the Bears have gone three consecutive games without a turnover.
• Brown only had one game all of 2022 (vs. Penn) without committing a turnover.
• 2023 marks the first season since 2018 where the Bears had more than one game without a turnover.
• Brown has not committed a turnover through the first two games to start a season since at least 2000 (as far back as single-game digital record go).
FOURTH DOWN DEFENSE
• Brown is one of only two teams in FCS (along with Richmond) who has not allowed a fourth down conversion yet this season. Both teams have faced two attempts.
BACK-TO-BACK BIG GAMES
• Wes Rockett has 297 receiving yards over the last two games, tied for the 17th most in program history with Sean Morey who accomplished the feat in November 1997.
LOCK DOWN CORNERS
• Brown tallied seven pass breakups in week one, with Isaiah Reed (3.0) tied for the league lead through two weeks.
• Last season, Reed ranked seventh in the league with nine passes defended (0.9/game) while leading the team with 53.0 tackles.
• On the other side of the field, Cooper DeVeau ranked third in the Ivy League in passes defended (11 total/1.22 per game).
FIRST IN FIRST DOWNS
• Brown leads the Ivy League this season with 81 first downs (27.0 per game), 16 more than Penn, the largest gap between any team.
• On the flip side, Brown has allowed 66 first downs on defense, second most in the league behind Harvard (69).
• Brown led the Ivy League with 215 (21.5 per game) first downs in 2022. Harvard (197) was second, the biggest gap between any team.
