Bears Wrap Up Regular Season of Fall Sailing

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.- The Bears wrapped up their regular fall sailing season this weekend with a total of four regattas, finishing in the top five at all of the events.
The coed sailing team finished in fourth place out of 18 teams for the Schell Trophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the New England Fall Open Championship. Connor Nelson, Vera Allen, Liam O'Keefe, Helen Horangic, Guthrie Braun, and Emily Mueller helped the Bears secure fourth place.
The coed sailing team also finished third out of 18 teams for the Nickerson Trophy at Tufts University for the Freshmen Championship. This squad was made up of Blake Behrens, Corinne Harrison, Camren Spriggs, Katherine Majette, and Sidney Moyer.
The Bears had two teams participate in the Dave Perry Team Race Trophy at Yale. The team of Connor Macken, Mason Stang, Leyton Borcherding, Sierra Bornheim, Olivia Miller, and Caroline Keeffe-Jones placed first with a 6-2 record. The team of Martin Atilla, Katherine McNamara, Ethan Simpson, Talia Levine, Brianna Ross, and Janelle Li finished in third place with a 5-3 record out of five teams at the event.
The women's sailing team participated in the Victorian Urn Trophy at Harvard University for the New England Fall Women's Championship. The Bears finished fifth out of 15 teams at the event. Brielle Willoughby, Lily Shore, Katharine Doble, Savannah Young, Charlotte Costikyan, Menasha Leport, and Francesca Edmands made up the team.Â
