Women's Swimming and Diving Earns Seven Wins in Season Opener

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown women's swimming and diving earned seven wins in the season-opening meet against Harvard. Overall, the Bears fell to the Crimson 170-130.
Jenna Reznicek had a strong meet earning wins in the 100 (55.16) and 200 (2:01.60) backstrokes as well as leading off the 200 medley relay for the Bears. Gillian Tu, Hannah Ahn and Morgan Lukinac also swam for Brown as the Bears won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:42.95 to start the meet.
Tu won her first-career individual event for Brown with a time of 1:03.90 in the 100 breaststroke.
Zehra Bilgin took first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.33, winning the event by more than two seconds. Bilgin also finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.40.
Lukinac picked up the win in the 50 freestyle, touching the wall in 23.51. Lukinac also finished second in the 100 freestyle with at time of 50.89. Lily Klinginsmith was third in the both the 50 free (24.25) and the 100 free (51.85).
Catherine Yu edged out a win in the 200 breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 2:17.49.
Anna Podurgiel was second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.25, followed by Yu, who finished with a time of 2:08.56.
The Bears squad of Klinginsmith, Tu, Bilgin and Lukinac took second in the 400 freestyle relay.
On the boards, Isabella George was the top finisher on the 3-meter springboard with a fourth-place finish (270.75). In the 1-meter, Bowie Krawczyk was the top finisher for Brown, taking sixth (250.05).
UP NEXT
The Bears will be back home next weekend with meet against Princeton and Dartmouth on Saturday, Nov. 4.
