NATION'S LEADERS
Through the first six games, Brown ranks among the nation's leaders in several individual and team categories. Click here for the full list.
UNUSUAL POWER OUTAGE
• Brown will be looking for a bounce back performance this week after last weekend's loss at Cornell, during which Brown was held to just 36 yards of total offense in the first half after entering the game first in the Ivy League and ninth in FCS in total offense.
JUMPING IN FRONT
• Brown has enjoyed playing with the lead for much of this season, particularly early in games. Last week's game at Cornell was the first time all season that Brown did not score first in a game, and was the only team in the Ivy League to have scored first in each of its first five games of the season.
• Brown has scored three times on its opening possession this season (2 TD, 1 FG).
TURNOVER STORY
• Brown was the last team in the country to have not committed a turnover this season, going three straight games to begin the year without a turnover before committing eight over the last three games (7 INTs, 1 fumble).
• Prior to this season, the last time Brown had gone three straight games without committing a turnover was in 2011.
• Brown only had one game all of 2022 (vs. Penn) without committing a turnover.
• 2023 marks the first season since 2018 where the Bears had more than one game without a turnover.
THIRD DOWN SUCCESS
• Brown ranks sixth in the nation on third down conversions at 51.1 percent.
FOURTH DOWN DEFENSE
• Brown was the only team in all of FCS to have not allowed a fourth down conversion until Oct. 21 at Cornell, when the Big Red went 2-for-2. Opponents are now 2-for-5 this season, ranking the Bears 2nd in the league on 4th down defense.
PENCHANT FOR BIG PLAYS
• Brown's defense and special teams have allowed 12 touchdowns this season of 37 yards of greater, including five of 50+ yards.
• Opponents have scored a touchdown of 43 yards or greater in five straight games and 50+ in four straight (includes defensive scores).
FIGHTING TIL THE END
• Brown has trailed in the fourth quarter in two of their three wins this year, twice either tying the game or taking the lead in the final minute (Bryant and Princeton).
PUTTING THE OPPONENT'S OFFENSE IN PARK
• Brown has three of the top four players in the Ivy League in passes defended this season in Aubrey Parker (1st), Treyvon Hobbs (3rd) and Tim Malo (4th).
• All three players have had a season-high three pass breakups in one game this season.
• Hobbs leads the team with eight pass breakups this season and has registered two breakups in each of the last three games.
FIRST IN FIRST DOWNS
• Brown leads the Ivy League this season (28th in FCS) with 155 first downs (25.8 per game), 33 more than Penn, the largest gap between any team.
• Defensively, Brown has allowed 122 first downs, the third-most in the league.
• Brown led the Ivy League with 215 (21.5 per game) first downs in 2022. Harvard (197) was second, the biggest gap between any team.
