Men's Water Polo Beats Air Force and Cal State Fullerton to Start Weekend

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Brown men's water polo earned two wins to start its weekend at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament hosted by Santa Clara. Brown beat Air Force to start the day and earned a win over Cal State Fullerton to close out the day.

BROWN 14, AIR FORCE 11
Brown was led by Ilias Stothart's five goals as the Bears got off to a hot start and held on for a win over Air Force to start the day. Máté Tymcyna, Jaxson Tierney and Gabe Chang all had two goals for Brown.

The Bears jumped on Air Force taking a 6-2 lead after the first quarter and Brown led 10-5 at halftime.

Air Force pulled within four a couple times in the second half but Brown picked up a goal from Tymcyna to push Brown's lead back to six.

BROWN 12, CAL STATE FULLERTON 9
Stothart again led Brown in the second game of the day, scoring four goals. Tymcyna, Tierney and Mac Berry each scored twice for Brown.

Goals from Narancic and Stothart put Brown up 2-1 after one quarter. Brown fell behind by one but goals form Chang, Tierney and Stothart put Brown up 5-3 at the break.

Tymcyna and Tierney scored in the third to put Brown up 9-6 and Mac Berry's goal in the fourth quarter helped Brown maintain a three-point lead they would keep for the rest of the game.
