Men's Water Polo To Spend Weekend at Santa Clara

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo's heads to California for three games this weekend as part of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament at Santa Clara.
The Bears will start the weekend against Air Force on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET and will take on Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the Bears will close out the weekend with a contest against No. 17 Santa Clara at 12:20 p.m. ET.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown is off to one if its best starts in program history, sitting at 12-4 after going 4-0 last weekend and are on a five-game winning streak.
- Ilias Stothart was just named NWPC Player of the Week after scoring a program record 10 goals in the win over Occidental to close out last weekend. Stothart finished the weekend with 23 goals and is now up to 58 goals to lead the Bears.
- Jaxson Tierney earned NWPC Rookie of the Week honors after scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists last weekend. Tierney is third on the team with 35 goals and 20 assists.
- Gabe Chang is second on the team with 36 goals and has collected 21 assists this year.
- Kole Newman is the saves leader in goal for Brown with 61, followed by Ryan Miele with 47.
- Air Force is 14-9 overall coming into the weekend and is coming off a 16-12 win against San Jose State in its last game.
- Tom Leggett is leading the Falcons with 61 goals and 84 points. Jack Richards has 41 goals for Air Force.
- Brown has won two-straight matches against Air Force with a 17-12 win over the Falcons last season in Providence.
- Cal State Fullerton is 16-9 overall in its first season as a program. The Titans are winners of seven of their last nine games entering the weekend.
- Togan Ozbek leads Fullerton with 48 goals, followed by Julian Nichols (44) and Dominic Hernandez (42).
- This will be the first meeting between Brown and Fullerton.
- Santa Clara is 9-8 overall, losing to San Jose State in its last game.
- Zach Fales leads the Broncos with 42 goals and Gojko Kapovic is second on the team with 58 points (21 goals, 37 assists).
- Brown has lost four-straight games to Santa Clara, including a 13-8 defeat on the road last season.
