Field Hockey to Host Bryant and Northeastern in Weekend Set

PROVIDENCE R.I. – The Brown field hockey team looks to build on a 2-0 opening weekend as they host Bryant on Friday (Sept. 9) and Northeastern on Sunday (Sept. 11) at Goldberger Family Field.
Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. with Sunday's game set to begin at 1 p.m. Both games will stream on ESPN+ with live stats available through BrownBears.com.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend after taking a 3-2 double overtime win over St. Francis and a 4-3 overtime win over 24th-ranked Miami (Ohio) on Sunday.
- Four different Bears found the back of the net in the win over SFU, including freshman Lexi Pellegrino and sophomore Catie Summers both recording their first career goals in the win.
- Junior Imogen Govan scored the game-tying goal with less than five minutes remaining on Sunday against Miami and added the overtime winner 5:40 into overtime to seal the victory for the Bears.
- Jodie Brine recorded both wins between the pipes and enters this weekend with a .667 save percentage and 2.18 goals against average.
- Bryant enters Friday with a 1-3 overall record after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Merrimack earlier this week.
- The newest member of the America East is led offensively by Olivia Clarke and Taryn Rauff, who both enter Friday with two goals.
- Hes Dieneke has started all four games between the pipes and holds a 2.50 goals against average and .737 save percentage.
- As a team, Bryant averages seven penalty corners per game.
- Brown and Bryant meet for the 13th time in series history as the Bears look for their fourth straight win in the series.
- The Bears took a 5-1 win over the Bulldogs early in the 2021 season.
- Northeastern enters the weekend with a 1-2 record after opening the season with losses against Ohio State and UAlbany before most recently taking a 7-0 victory over Division I newcomer Stonehill.
- Emilia Adragna leads the team offensively with three goals and seven points. Emmy Stubbs is second on the team with two goals and four points.
- Between the pipes, Jonna Kennedy has started all three games and holds a 3.32 goals against average and .769 save percentage.
- Northeastern averages 4.67 penalty corners per game as a team.
- Brown and Northeastern meet for the 24th time in series history and for the first time since 2017 Sunday at Goldberger Family Field.
- The Bears look to snap a seven-game skid against the Huskies this Sunday.
- The win over 24th-ranked Miami marked the program's first win over a ranked opponent since 2013. The Bears took a 2-1 overtime win over 14th-ranked Louisville on October 13, 2013.
- Brown enters the weekend with the two reigning Ivy League Players of the Week.
- Govan picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist against Miami.
- Brine picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring the Bruno defense to both wins, finishing the weekend with 10 total saves.
